UV and IR - "The Invisible Light"

We cannot see ultraviolet light, but it makes our skin darker/ more tanned.

We cannot see the infrared light, but snakes can use it to find prey.

What is the difference between the two? Why space telescopes use these electromagnetic waves to scan our universe?

The students in class were very enthusiastic about the movie "Predator", were an alien who can only see in infrared spectrum hunts people.

This is a good opportunity to tell them about the "invisible" ultraviolet and infrared light, as well as about the space telescopes that use it to see distant stars better.

A short video clip from the movie, as well as a presentation with the explanations, and a fun quizizz game on this topic may be downloeded from this link  https://sharelessonresources.blogspot.com/2021/04/uv-and-ir-invisible-lights.html
