Tsunami

Image
Why do tsunami happen? How are they different from just normal waves? 1. Watch the 1-minute video on your own 2. Draw a scheme  3. Explain your answer to your friend using the scheme. Discuss, if you both understood the topic in the same way. The video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HjYe7jpPPVaqoTRyLM3SH2yma7wQmwbH/view?usp=drive_link

Fossils 🪨🐊 - Group Activity 🖼️

Image
Intro      Today we shall learn about fossils. Fossils are once-living things that are preserved in rock.     Normally, when animals and plants die, they decompose . But sometimes the dead can accidentally fall into mud and stay there with no oxygen, slowly turning into rock.     Some fossils are older , and some are younger. Usually the older the fossil is - the deeper under ground you can find it. It happens because with time heavy things sink into the soil and get covered with sand that is carried by wind.     Let's learn about the four eras: __________________________________________ The oldest fossils - Precambrian Paleozoic Mesozoic The most recent - Cenozoic ---------------------------------------------------------------- Group Activity     Here is a group activity for you: 1. Get into 4 groups 2. Each group gets one era 3. Make a poster about your era and present it Download a video to  play at the background  whi...

Soil Horizons - A Hands-On Activity

Image
What will you see if you dig deep under the soil? Did you know that there you will find a solid rock layer called bed rock ?    In fact, we believe that in the past there was no soil, only rocks. But during a long time the rocks were weathered, break, and formed the soil.    Let's label the main layers/ horizons of the soil! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download the printable worksheet and a solved example | https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1h3fn4OMky0a1iFgDFdDwaVnyAYX152oV?usp=sharing Thanks Vontraciya Davis making the original worksheet.
