Sound Waves - Measure the Speed of Sound - 3 experiments

                                     What is sound?

Let's learn more about sound and try these three experiments!

1. Prove that sound is just a vibration of air using a tuning fork and a plastic box with seeds

2. Simulate waves on your computer!
Sound is a longitudinal wave

Can you hear sound in outer space/ vacuum?
Who is Hazza Al Mansoori?

3. What is the speed of sound? Let's measure it!

When you touch the plastic box with a vibrating tuning fork, the vibration makes the seeds to jump around. You may also put the tuning fork next to your ear and hear the vibrations, which are the sound.
