Fossils ๐Ÿชจ๐ŸŠ - Group Activity ๐Ÿ–ผ️

Intro

Today we shall learn about fossils. Fossils are once-living things that are preserved in rock.

Normally, when animals and plants die, they decompose. But sometimes the dead can accidentally fall into mud and stay there with no oxygen, slowly turning into rock.

Some fossils are older, and some are younger. Usually the older the fossil is - the deeper under ground you can find it. It happens because with time heavy things sink into the soil and get covered with sand that is carried by wind.

Let's learn about the four eras:

__________________________________________
The oldest fossils - Precambrian
Paleozoic
Mesozoic
The most recent - Cenozoic
----------------------------------------------------------------

Group Activity

Here is a group activity for you:

1. Get into 4 groups
2. Each group gets one era
3. Make a poster about your era and present it
