Use Al(OH)3 to Clean Water - Flocculation

Turbidity is how hard it is to see through water.
If a water is turbid, you cannot see through it, then it is not good for drinking.

That's because turbidity means there are a lot of small particles. Some of them are pesky algae and bacteria!

These small particles won't settle down even after few days. They are just not big enough to sink down because of gravity!

Good that we can make them stick to aluminum hydroxide particles, and precipitate. This purification is called flocculation, from Latin floccus "lock of hair, tuft of wool.

Let's see a video of this flocculation process!
