How big is the human heart?

- Human heart is about the size of a fist.

Where is it located?

- It is located in the central-left part of the chest, between the lungs.

The left lung is smaller than the right one, to make space for heart.


What are the parts of the human heart?

- Human heart has two halves - left and right. They are almost equal in size, but the left one is much stronger - it has 2-3 times thicker muscle walls.

Why the left side of the heart is stronger?
- To pump blood to the whole body - this requires more pressure.
The right side only pumps blood to the lungs.
